Why our application is not short and simple...
Selling, designing and installing a solar power system is a serious undertaking, and thus selecting, training and supporting solar dealers and installers is a responsibility we take seriously.
Requirements to become an AEE Solar dealer
Please review these requirements carefully to see if you qualify to purchase from AEE Solar:
- You must possess basic electrical system knowledge and/or experience and provide that history on the dealer application.
- You must have completed PV training.
- Exception - Licensed electrical or HVAC contractors are accepted prior to completion of PV training.
- CAUTION! Those who forgo training have high failure rates.
- We give consideration to those scheduled for an upcoming training event.
- We give priority to those who have completed BOTH Basic & Advanced PV training through Solar Energy International (or equivalent)
- To locate accredited solar training programs, check the IREC ISPQ list of accredited certified training programs.
- You must have proper business status to become our dealer.
- Appropriate license(s) for your state (contractor, resale, business).
- If you are not an electrical contractor, provide your electrical contractor partner information in the dealer application.
- You must complete the dealer application with ALL the required fields filled in properly.
- Key fields that we evaluate closely are owner information, business plan, electrical contractors license number, resale tax ID and solar training completed.
We ask your patience with our application and qualification procedure. It typically takes 5 to 10 days to process an application, and we approve approximately half of those submitted. If you need faster processing because you are ready to place an immediate order, please note that in your application and we will do our best to process your application more quickly.
Also, we do our best to fast-track approvals for highly qualified dealers who are already in the solar installation business and established contractors with electrical background.
